Weight = Our Measure of Gravitational Pull

Weight = Our Measure of Gravitational Pull

As I was sitting in my favorite chair this morning having some quiet time, I noticed the sun glaring in from my kitchen window. It felt warm and invigorating on my face. However, it was blinding me from being able to read. I thought about how it wouldn’t be long until the sun rose higher in the sky and would not be in my face so strongly.

That is actually not true. The sun is always stable – it does not change or move. Our earth is the one that is rotating. I began to think about all the billions of people that are standing on this planet at the same time. No one falls off as we spin at close to 1000 miles per hour. God designed the perfect amount of gravity for our planet so that we can move about easily. Any more or less would have dramatic results.

The number that the scale tells me is simply the perfect amount of gravity that God designed to keep my body from falling off the earth. That is how I am choosing to look at it. As a recovering anorexic, my mind tends to focus on my weight as my worth and value. I choose to look at it as God’s perfect design for my safety.
