She earned her Nursing Degrees at Erlanger Nursing School in 1985 and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1989. She is a seasoned behavioral health professional who brings a broad range of management, program development and clinical expertise to her current position of Executive Director.
Her 28 year career began as a staff nurse progressing to more advanced roles in the field. After several years of solid nursing experience, she wanted to use her nursing knowledge in the business world and became a Clinical Sales Consultant working the next five years for Hill-Rom, a world wide leader in manufacturing and medical technologies.

Deciding to venture away from Tennessee, Susan moved to Long Island, New York and lived there for ten years. While there, she worked full-time for the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System as a Senior Nurse gaining experience with Performance Improvement and Regulatory Affairs in outpatient substance abuse/psychiatric service lines. She obtained certification for HIV Counseling and became certified by ANCC in Gerontological Nursing. She also had the opportunity to work at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital as a staff RN providing patient care on adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric units.

Additionally, she became certified in auricular acupuncture, studying at Lincoln Medical Center’s internationally renowned recovery center. She became a licensed EMT and was a part of the Nesconset Fire Department’s Ambulance Company. Deciding to relocate back to the warm South, Susan began working for Colonial Management Group, Inc., in Orlando Florida, in the position of National Director of Development.

After many years of working in some of the best programs in the country, she returned back home and became part of a company with vision and a passion for saving lives. She has held many positions within the Focus Treatment Centers organization. She was privileged enough to be part of the opening of Focus Healthcare of Tennessee. She has served as both the Director of Nursing and the Nurse Executive. She has held other roles within the company as well, including Regional Nurse to Focus Healthcare of California and Administrator for Riverside Center for Behavioral Medicine, a psychiatric hospital in Riverside California. In her free time, she enjoys tennis, traveling and time with her family/friends, boyfriend and her dog, Talulah.
