Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED)
Other specified feeding or eating disorders, or OSFED, are disorders characterized by similar symptoms of other eating disorders; however, they don’t meet the strict criteria of one specific disorder. People often exhibit a combination of behaviors from anorexia, bulimia, and/or binge eating disorder, which can cause significant physical and mental health issues and distress.
The most common subtypes of OSFED-classified disorders are atypical anorexia nervosa, purging disorder, night eating syndrome, and bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder of low frequency or limited duration.
