For many patients, the use of drugs and alcohol may have caused devastation in every part of their lives, making it difficult to return home. While a person is not “cured” immediately after completing a residential or IOP program, they have begun to build a solid foundation for their recovery journey.
Because early recovery is so fragile, Focus hosts a free weekly continuing care group called Aftercare, which is available to patients for up to one year after treatment. The group provides ongoing critical support and helps participants identify high-risk behaviors and unhealthy thinking that could derail the recovery progress or cause relapse. The Aftercare Program provides a safe space in which to share experiences, strengths, struggles, and hopes, while offering help to peers in early recovery.
Aftercare is for alumni of Focus and is led by a licensed counselor. Groups meet every Tuesday evening from 6pm-7pm EST. Please call 423.308.2560 for more info.
